Description:
Why doesn't this LED bulb have an E-mark?
Replacement bulbs must comply with European standards regarding safety, waterproofness, and short-circuit prevention (ECE-R37).
These standards are based on the classic light bulbs and halogen bulbs of the past. LED replacement bulbs cannot meet these standards because they don't contain a filament.
Therefore, they are not E-marked R37 and are therefore not officially permitted for use on public roads.
Drivers can be fined by the police during inspections, even though their vehicle with this bulb has passed the MOT (periodic roadworthiness test).
They are permitted for use on private property and in racing, for example.
